One time I was walking to the
supermarket (6-8 blocks) from where we lived in Commerce City Co.
That's a suburb of Denver by the way. And when I was on the way back
home the Spirit ask in his noiseless voice, tell me how to get to
the supermarket would you. So I commence to tell him "out the
front door down the sidewalk to the steps and turn left at the
street, follow the street until you see the Big Cottonwood tree on
the crossing street, its about 3 blocks then turn left go two blocks
and you'll see the supermarket's parking lot across the street and to
the right about 1/2 a block down. There is the supermarket.” Okay
he said now I would like you to go ahead and put away the groceries
and find a handkerchief. Well this seemed a bit odd but what's normal
when your dealing with the spirit anyway. So I put stuff away and
went and got my old red and black country boy handkerchief as he had
ask. Then he says blindfold yourself with the handkerchief... so I
did. OK now let's go back to the store. Well I got out the front
door and down the sidewalk fine but I knew from memory there were 5
steps at the end of the side walk to get down to the street level, so
I slowed down trying to find them. He said your instructions before
said out the front door down the sidewalk and turn left at the
street. What are you doing He ask? I said, in my noiseless voice,
I need to locate these steps so I don't fall. You didn't mention any
steps before and I said well any one could see there are steps and go
down them. I continued along feeling my way until I found the steps
then got up and walked down them and turned left and started down the
sidewalk . Now we're tooling right along and ker-bam, I trip over a
raised piece of sidewalk that I now remember was there but too late
to save me from stumbling around to keep my balance. I make it to the
end of the 3ed block and I hear the leaves on the cotton wood so I
know I need to turn left. He said okay that's enough. What I wanted
you to understand is the instructions for a man with sight is
different from the instructions you would give a blind man. You need
to remember MOST of the men you are working with are Blind when you
meet them. So give your instructions and directions accordingly. And
as you can see you will give better directions for the blind if you
accept the blindfold. And so that day I learned that having sight was
GOOD for me.....But if I would allow the blindfold I could give
better directions to men of the world, for they are often blind. I
wondered back home pondering the true brilliance of this Spirit that
was Fathering me. Would that I could some day in my future explain
and teach with such simplicity and perfection, I was impressed !!
And it is not easy to impress me !!!!!
The time period in my time line
...... it was some time before Paul or Mike were born, early 1970
es.
I was younger then but I have relived
this example many times and in many ways while in my journey through
these many reality I have lived in.
